A Wedding Day
... were engaged. I wonder what would have happened if it had been too small.
We set our wedding day for September 6th. I had ordered my wedding gown and made some of the arangements when my fiancé wanted to change the date. He wanted to change it to August 17th. I now had to cancel the order for the gown, go out and shop for another one. Finally after looking all over I found the right wedding gown. I got the invitations out and all the other arrangements changed.
I awoke early Saturday morning August 17th, my wedding day, or is it? I really wasn't a nervous bride. I finished packing my luggage for the honeymoon. I went to get my hair styled and do some last m ...

Personal Writing: "Do You Want To Go To Space Camp This Summer?"
... my decision to study in the United States, and my career
goals.
First, it was really fun and interesting to talk with American
students. After camp started, I talked with the Japanese friends I had met
at the airport because I was too afraid to speak in a language I had
studied for only three months. However, I wanted to make American friends
because I thought it was senseless to come here if I only talked with
Japanese friends. On the second day, we were divided into teams with three
to five Americans on a team. I tried to use my poor English to make
American friends, but it was really difficult. First, I could not even
introduce myself without lookin ...

box. He carried a small bottle of water, Donald Duck Pez container, a green
glowstick, and a fifty dollar bill. He carried some earlier purchases of
hardcore mixtapes: Ron D. Core and DJ Dan. He also had leftover blowpops
that he had been passing around, and a handful of flyers he had received.
He carried his driver's license, now useless since he was lacking a vehicle.
He carried a set of keys, with a car alarm remote. What company was he
covered by? He would have to call them later.
He had nothing to alleviate his current difficulty. He had some money,
but not enough for a cab ride back to San Diego at 5am. He was sure that

Creative Writing: The First Day
... But I was willing to give Rocklin a shot, even though ever kid I'd
met in town so far had said ‘Rocklin is the worst school'. As I walked forward
with the white scrunched up piece of paper that told me my classes, I tried to
look like I fit in. As I looked around for my class, I noticed I was on the
wrong side of the building. ‘At least I know where the main building is,' I said
to myself. The main building looked bright and cheery, like the sun.
I trudged over to the main building trying not to look at anyone, the
pavement looked really white. When I got to the main building I walked up to a
Miss Kerby, sitting behind a desk and asked her if she could tell m ...

Creative Writing: The Case Of The Broken Hutch
... So I needed enough money to pay for the car and the cards. Also
in about a year I would be moving out into an apartment of my own, and I also
would be started to attend Sacramento State. I pay for my own schooling either
out of my pocket or by getting student loans.
When I first started working for this company they were short handed and
all the employees at the store I started at were new to each other. That is
they had worked for the company at other stores but had not worked together. I
was hired when the manager went to his yearly manager meeting in Reno.
When I was hired I was hired on as a delivery driver. The delivery driver is

"Tristan's Tragedy"
... of the lyre. I returned to
Cornwall, and upon hearing my account of Isolt's charm, my king Mark resolved to
make her his own.
After convincing her family to allow her to wed the king, we set back on a
ship for Cornwall. I remember the night on which we fell in love. Perhaps it
was the wine, or perhaps I was merely intoxicated by her. Nonetheless, she
amazingly felt the same drawing to me, and we were unable to contain our
affections. We continued seeing one another in secret after the wedding; after
all, without love her marriage was invalid. After a while, though, our
conniving king took aware of our dealings and banished me to the barren Arundel. ...

Personal Writing: Karate Class
... for me. I felt like I was a brick wall, and that no one my size could
defeat me. I started to get better and my teacher was training harder with
me each day we had class. He told me if I worked at the rate he was
teaching me, I'd be able to compete in the Olympics at the age of sixteen.
My first chance to show my friends and family that I was good at
karate was in the Lower East Side of Manhattan in a public school. I was
so nervous about this tournament I felt sick. Well it was my time to shine,
and shine I did. In the peewee division for my first event I had to
display my form. I did every step of my form so precisely and well, that I
beat everyone i ...

Personal Writing: Fortunate To Be In America
... However, as my two older brothers and I matured, we could see
how this once tangible dream began slipping through the fingers of my
parents' out stretched hands. That was just it. Once in America, my
father and mother expected success to land in the palm of their hands.
Unfortunately, it did not. Without a formal education and the ability to
speak English, it was impossible for them to exploit the opportunities that
were presented. I, being the youngest in my family, watched as both my
older brothers began working right out of high school. Thus, they also
have yet to utilize the endless resources that an education has to offer.
As I reflect on the past ...

tracks, needle marks, up and down my arm. My shirt sleeve had blood stains
on it from the day before. I held out my arm and demanded "I get the first

him and inserted the needle in my arm. As I was shaking, he told me "Make
this last for a while girl." I felt the dope hit me and ran out of the

Personal Writing: Getting Out
... the apartment and tell her what we wanted fixed. At
last, we had our apartment.
Finally, it was August and it was time to move. Our original plan
was to move everything at once with friends and family, but August became
very bust. One week I went on vacation to Chicago. Then I had to go
fishing for four days with my family. Another weekend I went ot a friend's
house, who I met at Boy's State, to see a rodeo. My roommate, Nathan, had
a wedding ot attend. Nathan worked from eight'o clock untill five thirty
as a hired hand. I worked a virity of hours at the Dariy Queen usually
over lunch and supper, which is when Nathan did not work. By the time we
finished p ...
