... consequently cause pollution effecting living organisms beyond the host countries borders.
There has been instances where one country’s pollution problems in turn pollute neibouring countries such as Mercury used in manufacturing process eventually leaking into river systems (This happened between Canada and the United States). Another example is acid rain caused by burning fossil fuels without capturing or burning off the chemicals that cause acid rain, for example, UK’s industrial plants affecting the forests of Germany and Scandinavia.
Chemical pollution has no boundaries, dumping chemical in the North Sea by the northern European countries not only d ...

Has Political Islam Failed In Algeria?
... started in Algeria by the end of the 1980's, after
a long era of the corrupt regime and it's economic in efficiency that led the
country to live under extremely harsh standards of living for the average
individual. While most of the Algerian citizens are under 30, namely 75%, which
means a huge number of people in need for a high rate of creation of jobs,
especially with the growth rate of population that is up to 3%, thirty percent
of the Gross National Product used to go to service the payment of the national
debt . This, of course, resulted in the decline of the growth rate of the GNP.
What made it even worse is the fall of natural gas revenues during th ...

... portrayed by the . I know at the time, there were several letters to the editor and opinion printed on the subject, but the Grand Island Independent seemed to be fair and stick to the facts. It was a horrible crime and I think they did a good job being unbiased. I think that it is a good idea to publicize crimes like this. From my other studies, I have learned that the informal sanctions, public humiliation and shame, are far more effective than the formal sanctions in preventing crime. When people who are having a hard time dealing with being a parent see something like this in the , they may stop to think about their actions. A good idea would be to run several ...

Causes Of The Civil War
... Free Men and Free Labor. The Republicans were anti-
South but they were in not abolitionists. They believed that slavery was a
flawed system that made the south ineffective and because the North's free
labor system was superior it must be guarded from southerners.
When the Republican candidate, Abraham Lincoln was elected in 1860,
the South felt threatened, and because expansion was vital to the survival
of slavery they also felt their way of life was being threatened. Because
slavery was such an important part of Southern society, the South felt that
they could not survive without it. That's why they were not willing to
compromise with the north. To own slaves ...

... was being formed derived its sovereignty from the people, which would serve to prevent it from becoming corrupt and disinterested in the people, as the framers believed Britain’s government had become. If the Bill of Rights is considered, more supporting ideas become evident. The First Amendment’s guarantee of religious freedom could have been influenced by the colonial tradition of relative religious freedom. This tradition was clear even in the early colonies, like Plymouth, which was formed by Puritan dissenters from England seeking religious freedom. Roger Williams, the proprietor of Rhode Island, probably made an even larger contribution to this traditio ...

... result in the overall outcome of future lives or rebirths, this theory is derived from karmic belief. Karma is practiced throughout and is taken severely seriously, therefore many believe that they are trapped due to the inability to fully enlighten and achieve the goal of knowledge. Through disciplined meditation, rituals and excessive reading of the scriptures one is able to correct insight and acquire wisdom and is allowed to engage in ordinary life, and will gain the knowledge to escape Hindu lifestyles and beliefs. I believe these world beliefs are truly pessimistic, due to the lack of knowledge and or common sense. It seems that life has no meaning and equa ...

The Effects Of Poverty In Our
... it has been.
What does it mean to be poor? What does it mean to describe a nation as “developing”? A lack of material wealth does not define one as deprived. A strong economy in a developed nation does not mean much when a significant percentage or a majority of the population is struggling to survive. Development usually implies an improvement in living standards such that a person has enough food, water, and clothing, a stable social environment, freedom, and basic rights to have a fair chance for a decent life. Is this actually progress? On the other hand, are we fooled into believing that it is?
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services placed the po ...

... of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of press, the natural rights of man, the freedom to own property, and that status is not a birthright but an extension of talent. Property also represented a very strong idea in the minds of many liberals. Davies concludes, "nineteenth-century liberals also gave great weight to property, which they saw as the principal source of responsible judgement and solid citizenship." (A History of Europe, p.802) However, property soon became defined as a natural right.
Davies expresses, "economic liberalism focused on the concept of free trade, and on the associated doctrine of laissez-faire, which opposed the habit of governments t ...

Abortion
... All I could ask her was “Why?” I finally got an answer from her, but it was not an adequate reason to eliminate the life of an innocent child. Her answer did not justify such a hasty decision as far as I was concerned. My sister has always been very independent so she let me know, in no uncertain terms, that it was her decision and her body. I will never understand how she could have taken a life without carefully thinking over the consequences of her actions. Getting to know my niece or nephew would never become a reality in my life. is a very controversial subject; therefore, I will give you my point of view concerning this issue. Every year in the United States ...

Coffee Break
... coffee adapts to all seasons. In the summer the most popular being coffee being, iced. In the colder months people switch back to the hot coffee and the varying ways it can be concocted. I would never think that the coffee I was drinking had potency. A while ago I was reading one of those bathroom-reading books that had all the random facts and quotes. It said that if a person consumed 80 to 100 cups of coffee in a day you could go into convulsions and die. I have had bad days in which I have had like maybe 10 cups, but never have I got close to 80. I began to realize that what I was drinking all along was a drug. What a queer drug it is. Caffeine is related to othe ...
