Why Corporal Punishment Is No Longer Justifiable In Discipling Children
... for the
children, making them do slave labor at home, and display best behavior in
school. When looking back, I can see why corporal punishment was allowed to
be used.
The year is 1991, the students are all rebels without a cause... If
corporal punishment was used today, it would fail. Kids no longer are
expected to act like they are in church for their complete childhood. If a
child is caught talking in class, the teacher does not whip or beat them
like years ago, instead: writing the childs name on the board, or giving
them detention does the job. Strange enough, most of the children in Jr.
High and High School are larger than the teacher, and one would th ...

What If The World Had Only Two Faces?
... a proper statement because it’s not the “sight “ that matters. It’s the personality of each individual that forms the bond of love. That would most probably eliminate jealousy in the world and would make today’s world more peaceful. Love can have its good times and its bad. The bad moments in a relationship would cause an increase in frustration. When a couple has an argument, all they would see in the world would be their spouses’ face. That can have a negative impact on people and it may cause them to become furious and possibly violent.
Seeing the same individual over and over again would probably cause the mind to become bored. That would be plain and ...

The First Date
... a first date, I received a variety of responses. The main requirements were that the man plan the date, pay for the meal, and have a respectful attitude. My expectations are extremely high. First, a man must come to the door with flowers when he picks me up for the date. This has never happened but I am still hoping. If this ever happened, I will know that he could possibly be someone that I have been looking for. A man must also open doors for me. Opening doors, sliding out chairs, and paying for the meal shows that a man is a gentleman.
From the information I have gathered, wearing sexy clothes, acting natural, and not talking about ex-boyfriends are a fe ...

Psychological Egoism: Every Person Is Oriented Towards His (or Her) Own Welfare, And The Object Of Every One Of His Voluntary Actions Is Some Good To Himself
... exclusively with the gratification of
personal desires (felicity or happiness).Ones success in maintaining a
continuous flow of gratification is the means of ones happiness.
The object of the voluntary acts of every man is some good to himself.
Whenever man renounces his right it is either in consideration for some right
reciprocally transferred to himself, or for some other good he hopes for from
the outcome. This presents us with the old saying: "Do unto others as you would
want them to do unto you."
Social organization originates out of self interest. All society is for
gain, or for glory. It is not like we think it is—for love of our fellows.
Instead it i ...

Optimism Verses Pessimism
... example, if a tremendous rain storm was to occur, an optimist would say “well, we have been needing some rain” or “it’s going to be sunny tomorrow.” When a pessimist would say “I hate the rain” or “it’s never going to stop raining.” An optimistic person is upbeat and charismatic, and a pessimistic person is dejected and downhearted. An optimistic outlook is most successful and radiant. Although everything has both pleasant and unpleasant attributes, a pessimist overlooks the positive and dwells on the negative. For example, if someone was to make an A on a test, a optimist would say “ good job,” when a pessimist would say “it was a very easy test anyway, and any ...

Linking Media With Fitness Perceptions: A Study On The Affect Of Media On Fitness And Body Image
... correlation was discovered between those who viewed the thin package
and their attitudes on social fitness. However a low score in the self-
acceptance scale in all three groups suggests a low self-concept within all
participants. This supports my statement that there would be a connection
between the fitness concept and the media packages as well as a constant self-
concept maintained by all participants.
In assessing personal attitudes it is often important to measure not only what
an individual feels towards others but also his/herself. Prior research
indicates this is especially important when measuring attitudes towards physical
issues. It has been fo ...

Sitting Down As A Family For Dinner
... It was a time when the entire family gathered, children of all ages included and everyone got along.
What happened to this time? Did the days get shorter? No…the same twenty-four hours still constitutes a day. Now no one seems to have time to share, to sit down together as a family and enjoy a meal. Now dinner time is full of interruptions; the sounds of shouting and laughter from the Drew Carry show or a honk for the passing cars at the Sonic. No longer is there assurance in knowing that every member of your family will be present at the designation eating time.
Refrigerators where mothers and wives once posted nightly menus describing delicious meals are ...

Gangs
... latino, or dark like me. However, we do not have
any asians in our gang. And no, we are not racist towards hispanics.
There's a gang that is called The Satanic Cult, which is into some
pretty weird rituals. They consisted of animal and human sacrifices and
people with brown hair were forbidden and non-caucasians.
There are many different gangs. Now there's one I am familiar
with, the Necronomicon, who jumped me and my homeboy (who's Latino) just
because we weren't white.
Another one would belong to the punks. Which I do not have a
problem with. The only two punk gangs I know of, do not call themselves
"Gangs" but they call themselves ...

Leaders Are Being Influenced Dominantly By Either Confidence Or Competence
... are ready for some leadership of their own, the next
problem at hand becomes how to go about empowering them with the leadership
responsibilities. Needless to say, the leader cannot simply step away and allow
the responsibility to dump onto the followers; surely if that happened, they
would quickly lose confidence and possibly competence too. Instead, the
leadership and responsibility of the followers should be increased gradually as
they are steadily empowered, and at a rate that depends on how well the newly
gained leadership is handled.
At all times though, the leader must be prepared to guide or even
realign the direction the newly independent followe ...

Pride

The certain culture of a Louisiana college football team, known as LSU, is engulfed with . Not only because of the players own high-standards to achieve, but also because all involved with the team, provide the drive of excitement throughout the atmosphere. The feeling of is unexplainable, especially when felt through competition. But the feeling that is felt is absolutely unmistakable; one will never forget its’ ability to empower an individual.
The photo shows an uplifting football progra ...
