Sexual Addiction
... experience becomes central to their life. They will be willing to
jeopardize everything that they love.
Sexual addicts progressively go through stages in which they go further
away from reality of friends, and work. Their secret lives become more real
than their public lives. Denial leads the list of ways addicts distort reality.
They deny to themselves and others that they have a problem. Arguments, excuses,
justifications, and circular reasoning abound in the addict's warped mental
processes. Some of the excuses are: "What she doesn't know won't hurt her,"
"It's my way of relaxing," If my wife would be more responsive,” and “If I don't
get it every few ...

Cultural Differences Between Americans And Spaniards
... As an American we are expected “ To put in a full days work for a full
days pay” , in some instances from dawn till dusk, with frequent breaks
to eat lunch, visit the restroom etc.. but the Spanish have a totally
different idea . The Siesta according to the Spanish is a break or
authorized work stoppage beginning after lunch and lasts approximately four
hours; normally between 1:00 pm- 5:00 pm , with work resuming at 5:00 pm
and ending at 9:00 pm.. The idea behind Siesta is to escape the torturous
Spanish summer heat during the hottest part of the day. That made
perfectly good sense to me, because I was very reluctant to step foot out
of an air conditi ...

Bad Or Good
... bad. On the other hand, being so many types of human beings, it is
normal to be different kinds of perception and interpretation of information.
Therefore, having many people who can interpret things in different ways, it is
difficult for somebody to say what is good or bad, and in the same time to have
his opinion shared by everyone. Trying to classify, we might come up with a
result that might be true or not, depending on the point of view. In other words
everything is relative.
Paradoxically, when we start thinking we, we discover that we actually
know almost nothing, or that there are many things left, to be known. On the
other hand, the more we know, ...

Cause And Effect Of Lack Of Education, Communication, And Action
... are simply stated but are near impossible to correct. The lack of education, communication and the lack of action by society as a whole is causing our self-destruction.
First, the lack of education is the beginning of the end. When people stop learning they stop growing. As history goes people are afraid of what they don’t understand, and are unwilling to learn more about it. This ignorance breeds disease and death. Racism, H.I.V., teen pregnancy, homophobia, and criminal activity in general are spawned through lack of education, or unwillingness to recognize our responsibilities.
Second, I feel that communication plays a vital role in the assessment of cause ...

Racism
... heritage. When colour is not a reason,
other reasons such as language, religion, nationality, education, sex, or
age become the reason of prejudice.
Sociologists, historians, anthropologists and archeologists believe
racial discrimination happens more often and most harshly when two groups
with different skin colours and unique physical features come into contact
with each other and the two compete for the same thing. History shows that
all attempts at a racial dominance result in conflict and avoidance.
But, some communities without disturbed racial conflict can take
advantage of all its citizens potential and move toward elimination.

The War On...Dress Codes
... would be a distraction to the students’ education. In reality, that probably wouldn’t be true. If everyone was allowed to dress anyway they wanted to, the student body would get used to see that sort of clothing and it would become just another part of going to school. Actually, most of the time, any problems caused due to clothing are usually due to someone stealing someone else’s expensive clothes, such as Tommy Hilfiger, which we are allowed to wear.
Numerous students would also like to wear shirts and other clothing related to Satan. Worshipping Satan is just another form of religion, just like worshipping God. Yet students are not allowed to wear clothing ...

Money Can't Buy Love
... to an eighty-five year old billionaire. I only know of this
happening once. Yet the author insists on emphasizing these circumstances,
as if it happens everyday. Of course, there are some shallow people in this
world who marry for money, but in most long-term-genuine marriages the
incentive is love.
Also, many people would be extremely happy living in the country or
in a small town such as Haskins with their spouse.. Living in a mansion or
million dollar subdivision hardly guaranties happiness or love. In million
dollar sub-divisions a person has no chose in what their lawn will look
like, or even what color their house will be. What kind of life is that?

Violence
... Drugs and alcohol are both mind altering agents which
cause people to do things that they would not normally do or intensify the
emotions that they feel. I believe that many violent acts are due to people
being under the influence of some type of narcotic or alcohol.
In a survey conducted in the University of Tennessee for the Department
of Health, the effects of drug abuse on violence were studied. It was found
that almost 56% of drinkers also used drugs while drinking. Interestingly,
white males were found to be more abusive than black males. The study showed
direct links from substance abuse to violence and crime.
With drug use and violence rising, a di ...

Affirmative Action
... Order 11246, which required that federal contractors take to ensure the hiring of qualified blacks, women and other minorities in their work forces. The use of was never limited to federal contractors.
The legislative history of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 reveals that during the 1960’s, American blacks and other minorities were denied employment opportunities because of their race, color, sex, religion, and national origin. As a result, minorities and women received lower wages and their rate of unemployment was higher than the country’s overall rate of unemployment. In an effort to put an end to employment discrimination, Congress enacted Title VII of the ...

Curfew: Worth It Or Not
... to stop and ask anyone for
an ID. Since it is not possible to enforce the curfew at all times, during the
night, city is spending tax money for something that is impossible to enforce.
Curfew makes you feel imprisoned since you can not leave house for
parties or be at one of your friend's house for long time. Lets say that I have
to get some programs for computer from one of my friends and it might take a
long time to do that. So after I finish and it will be past midnight, so I have
to violate the curfew because it is too late and everyone is sleeping. By
reason of an emergency or some kind of deed that might be lengthy and will
violate the curfew, it might b ...
