A TALE OF TWO CITIES By Charles Dickens is a novel which depicts
London, England, and Paris, France, in the late seventeenth century.
Dickens reveals how the common people were mistreated and abused. The

Middle of essay
....belle. Darnay himself is captured and ends up in prison. He is rescued by
his friend Carton. Carton takes Darnay's place in prison and thus, Darnay
is saved. Miss Pross is a dear friend of Lucie and has cared for her since
her youth. She is with the Manettes throughout the story. The storming of
the Bastille occurs in the course of this story. There is much blood shed.
Eventually the King and Queen of France are killed. Many peasants also die.
