Middle of essay ....cat. It was bad enough that he kills the first one, but to try kill another is ridiculous. The narrator fails in his attempt to kill the second cat and he kills his wife by accident. Instead of having feelings of sadness and remorse for his mistake, he immediately decides to hide the body. Never once did the narrator show any type of emotion for the accidental murder of his wife. This leads the reader to believe that this was really what he wanted anyway.
