Beginning of essay
Pride and Prejudice opens in the home of an English family, the Bennets, in the eighteenth century. As the story unfolds we find out that Charles Bingley, a rich, young, single gentleman is moving into Netherfield, near the Bennets. Mrs. Bennet decides that he will marry one of her five daughters ....
Middle of essay ....the estate of Mr. Bennet, and leave his wife and five daughters with nothing. It thus becomes evident why Mr. and Mrs. Bennet are so eager to have their daughters married well. Mr. Collins’ letter hints at his wanting to marry one of their daughters, in order to repay Mr. Bennet for his bequeathing of his estate. Soon after the arrival of Mr. Collins he tells Mrs. Bennet of his choice of Jane for his wife. Mrs. Bennet reveals that Jane is taken, and he quickly changes his affection to Elizab.... |
