The overwhelming questions that Prufrock is trying to ask is whether he should propose to his girlfriend, but the overwhelming question for the audience is if he will actually go through with it. In the last line of the poem, “Till human voices wake us, and we drown.” still shows Prufrocks true cowardliness and lack of self-confidence.
