Wang Lung grew up with the land- being taught how to farm it, harvest it, and survive off of it. He was able to associate his life with the earth. On the other hand, the sons learned to live by stealing to gain possessions and never understood the importance to land. This later became a factor after they receive Wang Lung’s land. It is evident that they are going to sell the land after Wang Lung’s death.... |
