The Wars by Timothy Findley is a tragic story of a boy who goes to war, suffers many hardships and never gets to go back home. The novel focuses around a boy named Robert Ross who gets involved in the First World War and realizes that war was not at all what he thought it would be. Robert experie ....
Middle of essay ....bert also felt almost constant uncertainty about what was going to happen next and he had to deal with the boredom in the trenches and try to find ways to pass the time until he was to go back out on the battlefield. He also had to follow orders he didn’t really want to, such as having to kill a horse that had “gone and broke its leg”(p.62), when Robert felt it didn’t have to be killed. Although, the novel is about Robert’s own experiences, his experiences could very well have been the experie.... |
