There were a few things I found that made the piece of American literature that it is. One of them was the use of superstition used in the book. Another was the amount of racism and intolerance. Much of the book focused around those two elements, and the culture and society of the time period. ....
Middle of essay ....s him on the heel. Jim has Huck cut the snake's head off, then skinned it, and roast a piece of the dead snake. They tie the rattles around Jim's wrist to help him. To me this superstition just seems like a way for someone to take their anger out on the snake that bit them. Afterwards Huck decides he would never grab a snake again with his bare hands.
Much of the plot throughout revolves around intolerance between different groups. This leads to much of the antagonism which makes the book .... |
