A Camera's Eye
Beginning of essay
Here I sit, in some coffeehouse somewhere, staring into the face of
the person in front of me as she rambles on about the happenings of her
day. I don't mean to ignore her and I certainly don't discredit what it is
she's talking about, but I can't help noticing the shadows seeping across
the left s ....
Middle of essay
.... perfect angles, and
shots. I think that makes me a person with a mind equipped to see beauty
and art in otherwise menial things. Like a painter with his brush or a
sculptor with a chisel the camera is my instrument in creating works of art.
I do not use the lens as an escape from reality or the world around me,
but as framework for all the beauty and art around me. Sometimes I wonder
if all the effort put into capturing the moment somehow negates the actual
experience, but I don't think so. Mo.... |
