The cause of war between Britain and America was over many reasons.
America had no representation in the British Parliament. Britain still
proceeded to pass laws that would effect the Americans. Americans would
not stand for Britain' laws for long. Americans took their first stand
against Britain ....

to allow Britain to pass any law it please and strip the powers that the
colonies had. James Otis, a colonist, asked the question of taxation
without representation and sparked an up-rise of colonist against the
British government. "British laws rests on the consent of the governed. All
this was done without their consent, since they are not represented in the
British Parliament"(Lancaster 05). When the Stamp Act was passed the
Americans threatened to rebel.
