Beginning of essay
The excerpt of that I read in class was far better than I expected. I was able to understand it easily both from a poetic and dialect standpoint. The story was also very suspenseful and far ahead of it's time for action.

Middle of essay
....se types of stories. The story quotes, "The battle was over, had been granted new glory; Grendel escaped, but wounded as he was could flee to his den, his miserable hole at the bottom of the marsh, only to die, to wait for the end."
Those reasons are what I thought made it a good story. Those qualities were very apparent to me, and I thought they made it better than most storytelling poems. I would recommend this story to anyone who has a bad view of old literature.
