This poem was a perfect illustration of Yeats’ use of symbolism. He clearly is a visionary poet, who uses allusions to there fullest capability. The way he says one thing to mean another earned him the reputation of a great poet, which categorizes him in a league with the worlds best such as Rilke, and T.S. Elliot.
