Sankofa is a movie that I have been waiting to see for about one year. I heard about the movie through my cousin. She really did not tell me what the movie was about, but she told me enough to keep my interest in it. When I first heard the title of the movie, in class, it sounded familiar to me. ....

.... air, floating. Then, at the end of the movie she, and other people, just sit on the stairs and wait while looking out at the ocean. After class, I was thinking about this meant and how everything tied in together. I finally came to the conclusion that the people were waiting for their Sankofa. They were waiting for their bird to come and take them back, take them away. They were waiting to experience that joyous flight with Sankofa.
