Apartheid, meaning apartness, in Southern Africa began in 1948 by the National Party lead by Dr. D. F. Malon. The apartheid was created to keep the races as separate as possible. It was unfair to all races of color because it gave the minority the power to set the laws for the majority. The apar ....
Middle of essay .... the majority when the minority declared itself the superior race. The coloreds were made to carry a pass indicating where they were allowed to go or live. They were treated as animals – told where to go and what to do. If the coloreds decided that they would resist the punishment given to them they would be beaten and thrown in jail. They had to sacrifice themselves in hopes that their cry would be heard in other nations who had influence in South Africa.
