Beginning of essay
I chose as my topic. He is a well-known figure from the
Civil War. I chose him because I wanted to research someone on the
confederate point of view, opposed to the Union. I wanted to learn more
about that side of the war, living in the north I feel I know more about
the Union’s role.

....o his fort was changed while he was out. When
he came back and said the wrong password his own men shot him, and his left
arm had to be amputated. Eight days later, on May 10, 1863, he died of
pneumonia. General Lee said, “He has lost his left arm; but I have lost my
right arm,” after the amputation. Jackson was buried at Lexington, VA. He
was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1955.
