Middle of essay ....gently and efficiently. At every spare moment he and his crew had, Jones took advantage of it and seized the opportunity to train his men. He had his crew practice gun drills over and over. With each command he gave, the crew slowly began to work together as a team and in time they were able to load cannons without a single mistake. Jones was able to take a "motley crew on board and weld it into a team."
