was born in Reading, Pennsylvania on October 2, 1879; the son of Garret Stevens and Margaretha Zeller. He was the second of five children and outlived all of them. He had two brothers and two sisters who were all very close. Wallace attended Reading Boys' School where his brothers also attended. T ....
Middle of essay ....went to New York Law School in 1902. It was here that he developed a professional relationship with W.C. Peckham.
After returning to Reading in 1904, he met Elsie Kachel Moll. He had said that he would marry the most beautiful woman in Reading, and he was sure that she was the one. The years from 1904-1908, Wallace spent most of his time thinking about Elsie, but thought it was important that he find himself in his work, so they remained far away.
