Personal Writing: An-Yang
... up the dank, squeaky stairs with my siblings, yelling "An-
yang!!"(grandmother) all the way. She would yell in a similar fashion "Ah!
Shua- nging!" (ah, children!) Smells of old-fashioned Shanghainese cooking
would assail my senses, as my mouth watered in anticipation of the savories to
come.
One particular afternoon, after we had finished eating, we draped ourselves
around her living room. I was sitting on a dilapidated couch, whose colors were
made indiscernible by time, and was looking around her room. My gaze swept from
the thin, worn carpet, bare in some places, to the scarred wooden dresser, to a
dirty doll with an eye missing. (My grandmother cou ...

Equality
... troubles get greater and greater until finally he does
something about it. All through his life, Equality thinks he is not capable
of accomplishing anything. Through time though, he discovers that he is
capable of doing many things by himself and more importantly that he is an
individual. When he is in the tunnel, he discovers a light. This provides
him with the confidence that he is able to do things. Other experiences,
such as falling in love with Liberty and seeing his reflection in the pond
also help him to believe in himself as a strong individual. Equality later
realizes that he has commited sins as he was growing up. He thinks by

Our Father-Son Relationship
... got in the way. I tried my best never to make him upset by staying out of his way. I felt that I was the young boy in the story, “Arm Wrestling with My Father” because the only time we were somewhat close was during physical actions. A fine example is that he would never miss one of my football games but would not interact in any other activities with me.
Our relationship now is a lot better than ever after getting some major counseling. After a counseling session, my father came up to me with tears coming from his eyes, saying, “I love you.” I can also remember his putting his tree trunk arms around me, hugging so tight, not letting go. Since coun ...

Creative Story: Day The World Turned Black
... there, they realize that they are also being pulled in along with the sun
and that their decision is at this point irrevocable. The funny thing was that
the sun emanated no heat and that the moon started to glow much brighter than
normal. It turns out that the moon was now supplying the earth with the heat
that was needed to keep most happy. The sun, and both ships are now closed up
in the thing and are increasing their velocity as they head for some minuscule
object way in the distance.
The team of explorers decide to catch the other ship but it is on the
opposite side of the sun. It takes them a few days but they finally reach the
other ship. The on ...

Personal Writing: The Day Of Doom
... just like I was. Both of us being down in the
dumps we looked for something exiting and diferent to do. We took a detour
down into a sand pit on the way to my friends girlfriends house. Taking
turns doing donuts with his car in the sand we passed away about an hour.
I needed even more of a rush so I hoped on top of the car, held onto the
roof, and told my friend to take off. After exiting the sand pit we flew
off down the piper pond road going about 70. My eyes and face were getting
wind burnt so I tapped on the wind sheild for him to slow down. After
coming to a stop I told him he had to try it so again we sped off but this
time he was the one flapping in th ...

Creative Writing: The Bastille
... out for a smoke 3 days ago.
I'm sure they are worried by now. It's getting closer I can now focus on
the imprisonment camp. It horrendous guards all over booby traps
everywhere we look.
We all get closer to the ground and continue forward. Were now
about 300 yards away when Mr. Lorry trips a bell line. The whole place goes
up in a frenzy. I get up and start to make a run for the compound; after
all I am a solider. Then all of a sudden thump boom! I hit the ground I
tripped over my untied shoelace. Everything gets

After a undisclosed amount of time I wake up as I look up I see all

Personal Writing: My First Hockey Match
... drifted towards me, and intensified my hunger pains. I noticed in
the Dairy Queen booth a heavenly looking vanilla sundae, mounded with plump,
juicy strawberries, and perfectly round indigo blueberries-it made my mouth
salivate, and I knew that I had to taste one. As I edged toward my seat, I
noticed Little Ceasars advertising grease puddled on top pepperoni pizza
and a frothy mug; emersed with crisp cold beer…this teased my temptation.
With only a few dollars left, and my arms filled with delectable treats, I
finally reached gate 201.
I pushed the heavy blue drapery to my side. Standing in awe, my
eyes scanned the gigantic arena. Everyone, including myse ...

Creative Story: Father's Handicap
... I didn't see her too much. After my mom told me the good news, I tried
to find something to do. I tried watching television but that didn't work.
Then I tried to play some videos games. I grew tried of that rather quickly. So,
I deiced to get some much needed rest.
The next morning I got up at eight o'clock because my dog Barney had to
go outside. I knew he had to go outside because he started to cry. So, I let
him out. Then I went to see if my mom or dad had made me breakfast. I looked
and found nothing had been cooked for me. Which was really odd because every
Saturday and Sunday morning they had made me breakfast since I could remember.
My sister ...

My Leadership Ability And Working Well With People
... the job I did. Another example of my leadership was when I was in the
fourth grade when I received the Role Model award for my entire school. I
received a bike and a plaque that I still have today. These examples prove
that when you are a leader people do notice.
Being vocal on the football field and basketball court are also
examples of my natural leadership. Saying something that needs to be said
or leading by example prove my teamwork abilities.
I have participated in many community service activities in my
community through school and church. I am a member of my schools Service
Club. One of our activities was to buy gifts for needy children. I also ...

Studying Abroad And Its Effects On Me
... changes in my life accompanied by similar kinds of unpleasant emotions. I have now more peace with myself than before. During my first week in the university I was so depressed that I seriously thought of leaving the university. Few weeks later I changed my mind and I recognized how much could I have regret this action if I had did it. This added to me the experience of ability to coupe with life either good or bad. In the University I still haven’t made any trustable friends and there was no one who could listen to me.
I had no thoughts or imagination for my future however now I have a dream that I am trying to accomplish. I am now more responsible for myself and ...
