Capital Punishment: The Just Punishment For Serious Crimes
... for a life" principle.
Also, it is an effective crime deterent which , by simply incapacitation of
the criminal, the chances of committing crimes of that criminal is
eliminated. Potential serial killers could not have been serial killers if
they were executed after the first murder. Furthermore, it has a
threatening effect to the public, making use of human's basic fear of
death, implying that the society would deal with capital offences with a
just hand , by taking away the lives of the criminals who knowingly
forfeits others' right to life.
Capital punishment is a necessary element in a society. Countries like the

Capital Punishment: Against
... and an innocent person dies,
no one can bring their life back. Now, if the death penalty did not exist, the
person would still have their life. Juries also have to think about the families,
both of the victim and the suspect. What if the suspect did not commit the
murder and was executed? How would the suspect's family feel? A close relative
had just died due to the fact that another mistake was made in our justice
system. This in fact would send a rush of anger through my body. The justice
system killed somebody's family member. The death penalty should not even exist,
due to the fact that many mistakes can be made, and a life can never be brought
back. ...

The Need For Stricter Gun Laws
... stay there. If we could eliminate the nonsense that happens constantly
on Capital Hill, this dream would be a very real one.
With the interests of political activist groups such as the
National Rifle Association (NRA) and the American Civil Liberties Union
(ACLU), Congress has had a tough time passing any legislation that would
benefit the public and curtail the sail and manufacture of armor piercing
bullets, automatic rifles and Uzis. Unfortunately, we tend to interpret
the Constitution to broadly. Obviously, in the late 1700's, there were no
deadly weapons to contend with. They had muskets, which could hardly be
used in a very swift and deadly manner. Gra ...

Cannabis Hemp. . .Marijuana!
... that did it all
before: Cannabis Hemp. . .Marijuana!
The industrial revolution moved hemp to a place of lesser importance in
world commerce due to the lack of mechanized harvesting and breaking
technology needed for mass production. But this natural resource was far
too valuable to be relegated to the back burner of history forever.
In 1916, a U.S. Department of Agriculture bulletin predicted that once a
docortication and harvesting machine was developed, cannabis would again
become America's largest agricultural industry. Some 22 years later,
Popular Mechanics introduced a new generation of investors to just such a
device, (See the February 1989 issue of ...

Gun Control: Simple Solution Or Ticket To Trouble
... should be enforced.
The problem with all of these recommendations is that they infringe on the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution of the United States. The amendment reads:
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. (Hofstadter, 1970)
This brings us to the question: what is gun control and how far should our government go with these laws? You want to make the nation a safe place to live, but you also need to abide by the Constitution, which is the basis of our nation.
As you can probably expect, there are many arguments on the pro side that are sound and qu ...

Internet Censorship Laws
... of all they make many people angry and since basically there is no way the government can control all that kind of sites on the Internet, the laws are not efficient at all. One of the biggest reasons for them being ineffective is the fact that the Internet sites are not hosted on the servers of only one country. Those servers are located all over the world and unless the government of Russian, Germany, Great Britain, South Africa, Zimbabwe, and all others pass those kind of lows the pornography won't be stopped.
Also I don't believe that pornography does as much harm as most people think. There are still a lot of movies out there with sexual scenes in them, and ...

During the Prohibition , people managed to drink and regardless of the government regulations, people will drink: "Despite a legal drinking age of 19 in Ontario, most other provinces, and both territories(Single et al., 1995), statistical reports indicate many Canadian teens drink alcohol." Furthermore, Many high school students have been to parties ( at which a large number is not of legal age drinking) which involve much drinking of alcohol. Drinking Age

with no adults around to say what's wrong. The people are a bunch of
teens of both sexes. The environment is any kind of drugs and or alcohol.
These consists of hard liquor like Vodka and Jack Daniel's. Then there is
beer with the lighter stuff like wine, wine coolers, and fuzzy navel.
Teens that drive are in big trouble and are at big risk. I'm not
blaming the accidents that involve drunk in just teens. Drunk drivers are
of all ages. And I'm not trying to say that all teens drink either. But
the ones that do and are stupid enough to say they're sober and can drive
home safe. Those are the ones that put innocent citizens at risk. The

Illinois Vs. Nathan Leopold And Richard Loeb
... Richard Loeb. Leopold, like Loeb, was a child of wealth and opportunity. Leopold’s father, Jack, was a millionaire box manufacturer. Leopold was a law student at the University of Chicago and was planning to begin studies at Harvard Law School after a family trip to Europe in the summer. Leopold, who was very interested in wildlife, had already achieved recognition as the nation’s leading authority on the Kirtland warbler, an endangered songbird. Leopold agreed with Friedrich Nietzsche, and believed that legal obligations didn’t apply to those who approached “the superman.” Leopold’s idea of the superman was his friend and lover, Richard Loeb.
