Animal Research
... and the extinction of smallpox. We need that kind of .
Another thing does and has done is given us valuable medicines to help asthma, epilepsy, arthritis, ulcers, hypertension, and diabetes. Also without research on animals we never would have been able to get drugs tested and approved for use.
Animals help us to teach and practice new surgical techniques to doctors who perform today's delicate cardiac, ear, eye, pulmonary, brain surgeries, and other live saving surgery's. And most people faced with their death would rather live even if it meant killing animals.
Next, animals help other animals as well. Veterinarians must learn the surgical techniques fir ...

Heart Murmurr
... are several different types of innocent murmurs. In the newborn and infancy period, a common innocent murmur heard is called pulmonary flow murmur. This is caused by the flow of blood through the pulmonary artery, which takes blood to the lungs. The arteries are still slightly narrow, and, therefore, blood flow through them will cause a murmur. As the baby grows, the murmur will become softer and many times disappear altogether. Another common innocent murmur heard in children ages 3 to 8 years is a vibratory musical murmur called a Still's murmur. No one knows the cause of the murmur other than blood flowing through a healthy vigorous heart. The murmur is usually d ...

When faced with the problem of there are a few simple things one should do to keep the case mild. First you should treat the early. The longer a person waits the worse the problem can get. Scarring may appear if one waits too long to take car of their situation. Once a pimple in noticed, don't squeeze or scratch at it. This will help illuminate the spread of more pimples and scarring. Your hands carry many bacteria that will help to spread infection. This is not a good thing to do (Facts 2).
When using cosmetics it is best to stay away from nonwater-based products and products that are rich in oils. These cosmetics will ...

Environmental Protection
... This position, most often espoused by individuals whose other views are curiously much more anthropocentric, is contrary to some well established facts. Unlike other creatures that have inhabited the Earth, human beings are the first to possess the technological ability to cause wholesale extermination of species, genera or even entire families of living creatures. This process is accelerating. Wildlife management efforts initiated during this century have been unsuccessful in stemming the tide.
Most public attention given to endangered species has focused on mammals, birds, and a few varieties of trees. Ecologists recognize a far greater threat to the much lar ...

California Water Pollution
... question is, what is being done to solve that problem ?
There are many laws and regulations to keep our water clean. Such as proposition 65 "The safe drinking water and toxic enforcement act" of unsafe levels of chemicals known to cause cancer and reproductive harm into actual or potential water sources. There is also the Toxic Pits cleanup act of 1984. This act states that there is to be no discharge of hazardous wastes within an half a mile of a potential drinking water source. This is something being done, but water does travel and seep through ground so what is this act really doing. The clean water act is designed to protect ground water indirectly by pro ...

Dna 4
... bond between the base pairs of the 2 nucleotide strands weaken, and the 2 strands break apart. Each strand acts as a template forming a new nucleotide. This is accomplished by the acting of 2 sets of enzymes - DNA helicase enzymes and DNA polymerase enzymes. The DNA helicase enzymes separate the 2 nucleotide strands. The site where the helicase is working and where replication is taking place is known as the DNA fork. The polymerase enzyme helps the nitrogenous base in a given nucleotide to pick up and attach to a complementary base at the 3' end of the DNA template. The 5'-3' strand of template is duplicated in short segments called Okazaki fragments. Ligas ...

Organic Compounds
... chemistry as the chemistry of carbon compounds. (pg.579, Smoot,
Price, and Smith, Merill Chemistry)
The largest group of organic compounds are the hydrocarbons. These
compounds are composed only of carbon and hydrogen. Almost all other
organic compounds can be considered as derivatives of the hydrocarbons. If
the carbon atoms are linked in chains, the compounds are called aliphatic
compounds. If the atoms are linked in rings, the compounds are called
cyclic compounds. (pg.581, ...ibid...)
(Biology Pamphlet)
In terms of naming organic compounds the number of carbon-carbon
chains are named using the prefixes below:
meth- 1 carbon

Managing Waste, To Save Our World
... be managed. Managing our trash is the
"in thing", yet it is hardly convenient. Lets face the facts, sealed toxins
"won't affect us for a good twenty years". Although this may be true, there are
still many advantages to waste management.
Today, more people are in favour of companies who invest in "green products". As
a result, companies have removed phosphates, bleaches, and have made their paper
products out of recycled papers. At home, families, are saving things, like
leftovers, and making sandwiches for the next day. Industries are also
manufacturing most of their christmas cards out of recycled paper, since it
takes 20 trees to make a ton of it. Finally, ...

The Problem Of Global Warming
... the atmosphere that takes a mature tree to clean in about five years.
Trees keep the air clean for the environment by taking the gases in and produces
oxygen out of it. By cutting down the trees we are allowing for more of the
carbon to be exposed into the atmosphere.
Another factor that most people would not consider in the raising of
global warming is the excrement of cows. Cows produces tons of carbon that does
not all get treated for, and is in the top five for highest amounts of carbon
produced per year. This is another factor that somehow has to be dealt with.
All of these causes of global warming have been know by scientists, it's
the effects we ...

Herpes
... of adults and other children. This form of is annoying but harmless in both children and adult, but is however very harmful to a newborn. It can sometimes be difficult to distinguish whether or not someone has been exposed to the other form of , genital . This is because there are very often no symptoms that go along with the virus. This is not always the case though and when symptoms do occur they are often seen as a cluster of blister sores, usually on the vagina, vulva, cervix, penis, or anus. For genital , symptoms may last several weeks, go away but only to return again weeks, months, or even years later. Symptoms may also include pain in the infected ...
