Abolishing Poverty In The U.S
... the state of absolute poverty can not sustain a
certain level of living . These people have a hard time getting money for food ,
clothing, or shelter. People who are absolutely poor have a rough time getting
money to put food on the table one day and the next day they might not have any
money to put food on the table. Not all people who are relatively poor are
absolutely poor, but, all people who are absolutely poor are relatively poor.
These types of poor are found all throughout the world especially in
underdeveloped countries. In the United States a advanced well-developed
country both absolute and relative poverty are present throughout the country.

Right-Wing Hypocrisy
... I disagree
totally with that assessment. Just because someone is pro-choice or
doesn't attend church regularly doesn't mean he is not a good Christian. I
thought the teachings of Jesus encouraged tolerance and forgiveness, not
persecution.
For instance, these groups preach "family values", with the father
working, the mother cooking and cleaning, and the kids being subservient to
their parents. I am surprised more women don't find this sexist and
offensive. Roles in each individual family are, and should be, different.
People should adapt to life based on their individual talents, not on what
extremist politicians tell them to do. The conservatives seem ...

Cars: New Or Used
... are three categories into which this technology falls. First, older Japanese cars are equivalent to new American cars in safety features such as anti-lock brakes, airbags, and theft deterrent systems. Fuel economy has been noticeably better in Japanese made cars for many years. American cars have been slower to move from gas-guzzlers to more efficient engines. The most important difference is performance. Japanese cars were the first to offer multi-valve engines, which have only recently come available in American models. Multi-valve engines allow for greater power while maintaining a higher fuel economy. There are other technologies concerning performanc ...

Domestic Violence
... are often in the form of physical injury, but may also be in the form
of sexual assault. However the abuse is not only physical and sexual, but also
psychological. Psychological abuse means intense and repetitive humiliation,
creating isolation, and controlling the actions of the victim through
intimidation or manipulation. Domestic violence tends to become more frequent
and severe over time. Oftentimes the abuser is physically violent sporadically,
but uses other controlling tactics on a daily basis. All tactics have profound
effects on the victim.
Perpetrators of domestic violence can be found in all age, racial,
ethnic, cultural, socio-economic, ling ...

Violence: Children Who Own The Streets
... among the children of America is increasing in
many aspects. The crimes are starting to vary. It's not like in the past,
where kids only stole candies or disobeyed curfew laws. Now children steal,
murder, rape and use drugs. This is not the America that we knew, this is a
battle. What can we do to influence these kids to stay off trouble? First of
all, we have to realize this is a very serious problems. And it has to be
stopped. The second step is to figure out what causes children to be violent
and become juvenile delinquents. This negative attitude causes them to lead a
life of delinquency and a life isolated from society's idealistic world. When ...

How To Get Married And Stay Married To The Perfect Mate!!
... each other.
In my book, I will also talk about the balance theory. The balance
theory is the notion that people have the same negative and positive ways of
thinking.. When this is not so, you have an imbalance which can disrupt a
relationship. I will talk about how a couple can use the balance theory to make
sure that they will be happy.
Another theory I will talk about is the equity theory. This theory
dictates that people will be more attracted to someone that they have a fair
relationship with. It states that we will be happier with a person who takes as
much as they give to us. Over a long term relationship, like marriage, this is
important because bot ...

Selfishness
... or a relative cares for someone close to them, you can actually look at it as though they only do it because they receive pleasure from helping that person out. You can look at it the same way towards people who help the homeless or give to charity. The main reason they help is really for the satisfaction that they receive out of helping.
, however, in my opinion is too harsh of a word to use for these actions. I mean absolutely everyone seeks happiness and satisfaction in everything they do and therefore it is just human nature to act this way. is a term that can be used to describe people who do things only for themselves and do things solely for their own s ...

Straight-Edge: What It Is And What It Isn't
... "rules" that every straight-edge person follows,
whether they are straight-edge or hard-line straight-edge.
Straight-edge is not something that has occurred just recently.
It is commonly believed that it was started nearly two decades ago in the
1980-1983 era by the hardcore-punk band called Minor Threat. The song
"Straight-Edge" written by Ian MacKaye, the band's singer, not only coined
the phrase, but it encompassed all of the philosophies that a straight-edge
person believes in. There have been theories that an earlier punk band,
called the Teen Idols (which included Ian MacKaye and the drummer from
Minor Threat*), started the ideology of straight-edge, b ...

Sex In The Net!
... are springing to peoples lips as we enter the
technological age. The age of the Internet. Never before has pornography been
so readily available. Through mail-order, at secret places around the schoolyard,
or simply down at the local newsagent or video store, pornography can be
purchased in any form or media. I know children, some as young as ten years,
who have an unlimited supply of pornography. They have been exposed to it from
an early age and it has become an addiction like smoking or drinking. Part of
the problem is that censorship laws are not enforced. Some newsagents will sell
a twelve year old, pornography, (legal age of 18) but will not sell them ...

this field and determine whether or not sex differences occur in play. If sex
differences occur, the possible reasons for this occurrence will also be
examined.
Review of the Research Section
Maccoby (1990) summarized a number of studies to support her hypothesis
that suggests different social situations may either heighten or suppress sex
differences in behaviour.
One study was that of social interaction between pairs of young children
(Jacklin & Maccoby, 1978). Pairs of 33-month old children were brought together
in the same-sex or mixed-sex in a laboratory playroom, and the amount and kind
of social behaviour directed more social behaviour, both positiv ...
