Star Wars: Heros And Villains
... to alderon; but there was no more alderon. So they got sucked into the
ship where Princess Laya was being held hostage. Luke disguised himself as
a storm trooper, and went to her cell block to bust the Princess out. The
really showed a lot of courage, considering that he almost didn't get out
alive.
Also, when the rebellion need a pilot to destroy the enemy ship,
Luke was quick to offer his services, so he got geared up, and told him
about the weakness in the enemy ship, and how small of a target that he was
after. He still was determined to help the rebellion, so he did. He was
almost gunned down buy Darth Vader, but Luke had the force on his side.

Much Ado About Nothing
... also didn't like the idea of marriage. Benedick thought that marriage led to the trapping of men. When he heard about Claudio getting married, Benedick thought that Claudio was crazy, because Benedick felt that marriage was going to change the way Claudio lived. Benedick was also very stubborn. He never wanted to give into other people's ideas, and that was why he didn't want to give into the idea that marriage could be a good thing in a person's life.
Beatrice was a character very similar to Benedick. She was a very independent person, and didn't want to rely on anyone for support. She also was very smart. She enjoyed reading poetry, and thought about things a lo ...

Macbeth Analysis Paper
... because he didn’t seem to let
His worry go or calm down after he had done it. He seemed to have imagined a voice cry, “Sleep no More! Macbeth does murder sleep” and
“Macbeth shall sleep no more”!The only reson he killed Duncan was because the witches told him that he would be Thane of Cawdor and then king. Greediness seemed to have stepped in and he wanted so much to be king, that he would do anything he had to do to become it, even it it meant to kill the king. If the witches had not told him about becoming king, he probably would not have been so cruel killing so many people. Lady Macbeth had a rather little part in Macbeth’s killing of Duncan. She was the one ...

wife of him not getting paid. He asks his boss, Howard Wagner, "Howard,
all I need is fifty dollars a week to set my table." (page 80) He is a
very confused man that has had many let~downs in his older years.
Willy was an interesting person. He worked for the same company
for 34 years, and was fired when he asked for a raise. He was there when
the recent owner, Howard Wagner, was born. He lays a guilt trip on Howard,
talking about his father, and still Howard doesn't feel bad for him.

Bugs Bunny And The Marlboro Man
... horse, and you think, "Hey they're pretty cool," so decide to start smoking.
How many times have you heard, "Here's that frog commercial," and went running
to the television to see what they were doing now? You might start thinking
that they are cool, so go and try their product, which is just the thing the
advertisement is trying to do.
Popular TV series also play a role as bad influences. Many shows have
the main character smoking or drinking. Take Rosanne, for instance; the opening
scene shows her sitting around a table playing poker, while her husband smokes a
cigar and drinks a beer. In Married With Children, another show, Al sits around
the house re ...

How Do The Past And Present Effect Sexuality On Television And The Adolescent Mind?
... fifteen years ago? What can we learn now about the American adolescence and sexuality on network television? How will sexuality on network television effect adolescence for the future. What role does cable television play in the new sexual revolution of television. Is sexuality on television really a problem or is it just hype brought on by other outlets of the media and family groups? I will attempt to explore all these paths in the research paper.
In 1985, every hour of every day an average of two to three acts of "sexual content" centered on heterosexual intercourse. This is an important factor to remember because it set the trend for what is going to happe ...

Stud Terkel’s Play “Working”
... has been a hooker ever since she was fifteen, and she got involved in the business while she was sitting in a coffee shop. One of her friends came by the coffee shop in a cab, and asked her if she wanted to make a quick two hundred bucks. And so, she did. At first, she was amazed at how easy it was to make a living as a trick. In the process of being a trick, she had developed her own philosophy about how all women are tricks just like her. She points out that women are taught at a very young age to be prostitutes. For example, women are told to “ Hold out for the highest bidder,” and “Don’t sell yourself cheap,” These types of statements are always being addres ...

Television And Its Affect On Our Lives
... it teaches the viewer to live in a fantasy-land,
where violence is permitted and bathroom humor is considered comedy. They
say it will turn a mind into mush. I disagree with these thoughts.
Television and cable are not just comedy shows, they offer educational
background as well. Through this technological breakthrough, I can receive
up to the minute coverage of breaking events around the world instead of
reading about it a day late in the paper. Television offers a picture to go
with the words unlike the radio. It serves as a quick and easy information
source for people who work. To read about a war in the paper is nothing
like experiencing it live through the T ...

A Doll House: Nora
... names seem cute and affectionate, at the same time they come across as extremely condescending. However, Nora does not seem to mind at all and plays along in her role as Helmer’s “little squirrel”. In Act 1 we also learn about Nora’s taste for macaroons. At the beginning of the scene she is eating some and hides the bag when Helmer enters the room. He later questions her as to whether or not she has been “breaking rules” by eating a macaroon or two, which she denies. This shows us that Helmer’s control over Nora goes so far as to include the forbidding of sweets. More importantly, it shows us that Nora willfully disobeys Helmer’s wishes. It is in this small ...

Birth Of A Nation: Art Or Propaganda
... was not a ground-breaker; However, through its effective
use of devices such as symbolism, foreshadowing and allusions, as well as
building on and arguably perfecting film techniques such as continuity editing,
intercutting and close-ups, he transformed film from mere entertainment to art
and propaganda.
To present and explore a theme, symbolism is used everywhere in
literature. Whether the image is subtle or obvious it is regardless a sign of
considerable calculation and effort. In Birth of a nation Griffith places
symbols everywhere, in doing this he merges literary devices of written works
with his own visual works. For instance, the parched corn symbol i ...
