Movie: The Paper Chase
... street" they've been riding in high school.
The movie teaches that you need to be able to put up with the arrogance
of the rich and uppity people that attend an Ivy League school. They are very
expensive and most students come from wealthy families.
"The Paper Chase" teaches the viewer that law school is very stressful;
it is a way of life not just going to school; and you must have what it takes
just to survive law school.
The things I liked most about Mr. Kingsfield was well organized, and
that he was a difficult teacher. Difficult teachers usually make you learn for
yourself.
The only things I didn't like about Mr. Kingsfield were that he was rude

Imagery In Macbeth
... but the way Macbeth killed Macdonwald was a savage display of sickness.
"Till he unseam'd him from the nave to the chaps,
And fix'd his head upon our battlements"
(Act 1, Scene 2:line22, 23)
Macbeth was not a bad man at first he was a very noble ally to Duncan. When Macbeth he saw the Three Witches everything changed. They told him things he wanted to here and he believed them. He told Lady Macbeth what the witches said. She taught him and ridiculed him to be evil. He listened to her and that is when the trouble started.
The first ignoble killing by Macbeth was the killing of what was supposed to be his friend Duncan. Macbeth killed Duncan to become king. ...

The Foils Of Hamlet
... foil for Hamlet is Polonius, Laertes’ and Ophelia’s father. Hamlet and Polonius are both very quick to speak or and lash out in excitement. Both of them have made major mistakes because of this unwanted trait. Hamlet has, on many occasions, spoken too quickly or acted out of rage or ignorance and hurt himself and others. When Polonius spies on Hamlet and the Queen, Hamlet thinks that it is the king who is spying behind the curtain, and without knowing who it really is he stabs Polonius and kills him. Polonius also has the same problem, but with much tamer results. Polonius usually ends up just making himself sound like a babbling fool by not thinking thi ...

Movie Review: Gone With The Wind And Glory
... and how the effected the people of the Untied States.
Gone with the Wind takes place, in early 1861, just before the start of the civil war. The movie follows Scarlett O’Hara and her Georgia southern life before the war, to the harsh life during and finally to her lavish life after she marries Red Butler. The atmosphere of Georgia before the war was very relaxed and secure. The southerners felt that their problems would take care of themselves, and as long as they had control over the congress nothing could hurt their interests. People threw parties, laughed, made jokes about Abe Lincoln, and overall were quite carefree. The world around them seemed to collapse ...

"Rage"
... it is on myself. I
force it on my surroundings which include other people and other objects.
My rage sometimes forces the vain in my forehead to give me a headache. To
me that's what rage is, that sensation in your mind that let's you know
that you are frustrated.
Beginning my search I looked up the definition in the dictionary my
computer. When I looked up the meaning of the word rage in the dictionary
it was exactly what I thought it would be. The real definition is violent
explosive anger. Also to be furious intensity, as of a storm or disease.
Brenda Gillespie (39) stated that rage to her meant to be upset, to die
hard with a vengeance, or when you ...

Macbeth
... the witches, and his ambition. First, ignores the voice of his own psyche. He knows what he is doing is wrong even before he murders Duncan, but he allows Lady and greed to cloud his judgement. In referring to the idea of the murder of Duncan, first states,"We will proceed no further in this business"(I.vii.32). Yet, after speaking with Lady he recants and proclaims,"I am settled, and bend up/Each corporal agent to this terrible feat"(I.vii.79-80). There is nothing supernatural to be found in a man being swayed by the woman he loves, as a matter of fact this action could be perceived as quite the opposite. Second, the witches have to be dispelled as a sou ...

findings that indicated a higher level of aggressive play in the violent-

Macbeth: Contrast Of Lady Macbeth And Macbeth
... throne. Her wickedness is shown several times when her
speeches resemble that of the witches and her repetition of phrases three
times, like the witches. She wishes to be filled with the “direst [of]
cruelty” and “unsex[ed],” for her womanly “moral thoughts” will do her no
good. Her eagerness to succeed in being the queen of Scotland pushes her
beyond her own moral boundaries.
Macbeth, on the other hand, agrees that Duncan must be slain in
order to attain the crown but unlike Lady Macbeth, he is weary. He is
weary because of the fact Duncan “built an absolute trust” with him and “
honour’d him.” Lady Macbeth goes as far as to accuse him of having no
manliness a ...

Hamlet: Hamlet's Hate For His Uncle Brought On By Ghost
... to avenge
his fathers death, and would stop at nothing to take the life of his uncle. His
uncle however is not the only one Hamlet has developed a hate for. He believes
his mother played a large roll in his fathers death too.
The speedy marriage of his mother to his uncle along with the words of
his father"Taint not thy mind nor let thy soul contrive against thy mother
aught"(pg.31) lead Hamlet to believe that his mother also had something to do
with his fathers death. His mother whom he loved so dearly now becomes one
of his worst enemies, destroying him even more than before. Hamlets mother, and
uncle however are only the beginning of this emotional ...

Hamlet: The Theme Of Having A Clear Conscience
... takes are a clear result of this
self-evaluation. So, in essence, the actions cause him to think of his
conscience and then act upon these feelings. Hamlet's several soliloquies are a
testament to this method. His first soliloquy, following a conversation with
his recently wed mother and uncle reflect the uneasiness he feels. He feels
betrayed. "O, most wicked speed, to post, with such dexterity to incestuous
sheets. . . but break my heart, for I must hold my tounge." (I, ii, 156-159).
Hamlet's conscience tells him what is wrong-in this case, the hasty marriage-but
he is ambivalent as to how to approach it; before he meets the ghost, silence is
his method. Wh ...
