The Monkey's Paw
... he's not at our doorstep" said Mrs. White. They looked at each other
in horror and ran downstairs to fetch the monkeys paw. Mr. White picked it
up in his trembling hands. "But, there is no more wishes left," said Mrs.
White. "Maybe, just maybe I can squeeze out just one more wish to save us,"
said Mr. White. He held the monkeys paw high in the air and said, "I wish I
never pulled this wretched monkeys paw out of the fire". But nothing
happened, all was silent. "We can't make it go away" said Mrs. White. They
both fell to the floor with tortured hearts. "I cant live with a son like
that, we must find a way to put an end to this," said Mr. White. Herbert

Creative Writing: The Debut
... Trevor Thorne, a six-foot plus striker, had an uncanny ability to get the ball in the back of the net with either his head or one of his powerful shots. Empire also boasted of a formidable defense partnership, with their sweeper and goalkeeper, who both had international experience. By contrast, our team had no current national players.
In the dressing room, I found all of my teammates already preparing for the game. The room was small and poorly lit. The captain was taking us through all kinds of stretching exercises. Everyone else was quiet, their faces reflecting concentration on the game ahead. Suddenly the coach started to announce the starting eleven. My ...

My Vacation In Acapulco Mexico
... A ten minute introduction to the Mexican culture was followed by an intriguing native dance, performed by a man dressed in an authentic looking costume consisting of only a rawhide g-string with a short apron front. His sandals had leather cords winding halfway up his legs. This dance depicted a story of a hunter and his prey. It was narrated by a woman who was also in costume. Brightly dressed Mexican men were beating drums and banging sticks providing the sound effects for the story. This was truly a great beginning to a wonderful afternoon. Behind the restaurant was a low mountainous area, accessible by walking trails only. We hiked one of these trails, ob ...

Person Essay On Charles
... and since we drove we had to spend the night. So around 3:30am we
got tired and went to lie down. As soon as we laid down Charles asked if he
could take his shirt off and if I would scratch his back. I told him sure. So
he did and that's when he told me he had an itching disease and I wouldn't be
able to stop scratching his back until it stopped itching him. Well, with a
little alcohol in me I believed him. I laid there for 2 ½ hours before I
realized he had fallen asleep and went to sleep myself. On Monday on school I
saw Charles and asked him how his itching disease was. He just looked at me
grinned and chuckled. That's when I realized he had pulled a fast on ...

Creative Writing: Love At First Sight
... a barbie doll. Her eyes glowed like stars and she had a great
smile. She could cheer anyone up just by looking at them, so a lot of
friends came to her for advice. As she approached the exit of the
Hundsen's
store she noticed a handsome guy standing in the checkout line. The line
was very long, but it was almost his turn. It seemed like she had met him
before, but his name would not come to her. He stood about six feet tall
and had light brown hair. He was wearing a shirt almost exactly like the
one she was wearing.
She stood by the door to put her leather jacket on, and watched the
guy pay for all of his merchandise. The store was a crowded st ...

Graduation 1999
... all the way to the state championships and most of the students went down to watch the game even though it was 300 miles away. When you start to remember all of these fond memories its like you can’t stop them all from all coming back at once. You also realize that this might be the very last time that you see many of these people, most of them will end up going off to college and moving away. Its sad when you realize that all of these events will be gone forever and all that is left is the memories you have of them.
All through a persons life there is almost always someone behind you telling you that you should do your best, or that you did well on something. ...

Creative Writing: Who's In The Wall?
... an hour of
getting "I do not know. What are you talking about? Please leave." I realized
this was a waste of time and decided to go.
The next morning I called Mr. Machiano and asked him to meet me at the
palace. As I approached the area where the body was found I began to feel a
little queasy. I searched the ground around the body hoping to find some clues.
I noticed the sparkle of metal pertruding from the ground. I picked it up and
saw it was a gold and diamond ID bracelet with the name Montresor inscribed on
it. I decided to do a little more research on this man. I went to the station
and asked the secretary to show me the file on any person missing for ...

Quarry Hill
... Rudy.
"I don't know, what can we do?" Asked a frustrated Rudy. I looked up
to the stars and tried to think. Finally an idea excited me enough to
actually say something.
"I know! Lets go to the Quarries in Uxbridge and go swimming! I've
never been and I hear it's a cool place!"
"Yeah!" It was clear to me that Rudy is a quick thinker -- I barely
finished my idea before he was in agreement. "Come on Tom, lets go to the
Quarries!" Rudy said to get a response out of him. Tom -- still in his
"quiet mode" -- looked Rudy right in the eye, blinked, gave a half laugh,
and smiled.
"Well, all right. It's 1:00am, I think I'm going to go to bed no ...

Creative Writing: Letter To Mom From Jewish Man During The Holocaust
... looking glass.
After being forced to leave my life behind, I was given a number
and was sent to live in a hostile. A man named Oscar Schlinder came up with
an idea to make lots of money. This is where we came in at. He hired Jews
to do labor for him, because it would be much cheaper. One day all of his
commandants threw a mass germicide in the ghetto and many were killed. I
thank God that I was a lucky survivor, but they ended up finding me, and I
along with many other Jews were taken to where I am now, Auschwitz. Here
they have shaved our heads, took our clothing, and both men and women are
viscously beaten if not killed for no reason, besides that fact that we ar ...

Finding Aviation In A Boy's Heart
... to point us in the right direction. As I walked down what seemed to be an endless aisle of seats, I noticed a graceful all metal staircase that spiraled into the ceiling. The stairs gave off a feeling that a person has to have privileges to walk them.
When we finally reached our seats, the seat belt signs turned on. I quickly hopped into the window seat and buckled my seatbelt. Soon the soothing voice of a flight attendant was giving instructions over the intercom on emergency procedures. I began to hear the whining of the engines, and with a clunk, we began moving. As the plane began to roll backwards, the captain announced on the intercom how long the trip w ...
