The Ideal Dinner (Billy Corgan, Jimi Hendrix, And G. Washington)
... and ideas to gain a better understanding of poetry,
lyrics, and songwriting. He is very intelligent, and I think he has a lot
to share with everyone. His diversity, talent, and his ability to be
ferocious and graceful at the same time would make me want to invite Billy
Corgan to dinner.
I would invite Jimi Hendrix because he was one of the greatest
guitarists of all time, despite his drug habits. Hendrix was ahead of his
time with the music he played. He introduced a whole new style of rock
guitar. His lyrics were simple and were almost always about love, but his
guitar talent and unique playing style always made up for it. I would love
to have a jam s ...

Graduation
... their cap and
gown. When he finally handed me my gown I quickly took it and sat to me admire
it. Its funny how the simplest things can symbolize a whole new beginning. I
sat and looked at this ugly maroon gown with this weird looking square hat.
The ceremonies were to be held at the Mullins Center on the campus of
the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. The ceremonies were to begin at
7:00p.m., yet I had to be there at 6:00p.m.. When everyone arrived we
rehearsed on how we were to walk in and where we were going to sit. You could
the excitement in everyone’s eyes. No one could wait for the moment in which our
diplomas would be handed to us. They lined ...

Leon High School Coach Billy Bob Evans
... of competition it has. Then when I got to Leon the principal told me I had to coach volleyball.” I believe that it was fate when that principal told him that. During his forty six years of coaching Evans has won nine state championships, and has not been defeated in a district game since 1972.
A typical day in volleyball season is long, considering Evans coaches both high school and junior high. “We have hard practices each day, with a lot of running and fundamentals development. Mainly trying to improve as much as we can before our next game. Game days we do not run as much and we do a little skill work, nothing to hard”. During off season Evans works on conditi ...

A Camera's Eye
... sitting there, very proud, very astute. I
can see him running, a tight shot with plenty of leadroom. I could focus
on the dimensions of his solid muscles as they pushed him forward. He
could run unleashed, through a park filled with greens and waters or on a
city sidewalk. He would look so beautiful and natural surrounded by the
dark colors of the city. I can see the scene and I can move on.
My eyes go back to the girl in front of me. I can't stray too long,
I'll be caught surveying my surroundings and accused of not paying
attention. I bring my focus back to her eyes and then her mouth. A close
up of her lips would be a good shot. Forming each word, detailed cur ...

Personal Writing: My Big Problem
... the fighting. If she
does something wrong, I could let her get it wrong, and let her deal with
my parents. If she decides to start something with me, ignoring her just
might prevent the world war. There would be the input, but no output.
She'll think she's winning, and that I'm getting too easy, and she's too
much for me. Sure it could work. But like I said I want to keep my
"Macho man, don't mess with me" reputation, which I feel strongly about.
Another thing I could do is simply help her whenever she does
anything wrong. But the problem is, she does practically everything wrong.
That can get very annoying, and could spark a match. And then I'm back to

Personal Writing: Non-Conformity
... Our group was led by the
mother of two of the students. James, the son, would constantly make fun of
his mother. It seemed as if our group only talked about service projects,
which need to be done and are great, but never God. I really wanted to grow
spiritually and know more about God. I was not receiving that knowledge at
that church.
I met some really great people last year who went to Redeemer's. I
was invited to one of their youth group meetings, and I was amazed that
thirty high-school kids were there. We talked in-depth about Jesus and
chapters of the Bible. I really enjoyed it. I talked to my parents about
switching churches. They knew that Redeemer's ...

Personal Writing: Before Stepping Up To The Plate, You Need A Spot On The Team.
... I was a young boy, starting with T-ball and moving my way up. I was always a good player, able to keep up with all the other boys. Baseball was my life. That year, I was juggling three baseball teams, an intramural league, a travel team that everybody made, and I was trying out for the All-Star team for the first time. I did well for my intramural team, and my coach, Mr. Keubler, was also a coach for my travel team and All-Star team. He asked me to play for the travel team, called the Devlin Team and I accepted, always eager to play as much baseball as possible. I had a good season with the Devlin team that year, and my two coaches were Mr. Keubler and Mr. ...

Personal Writing: Class Trip To Miller Springs
... fun to learn about
different things about what happened when Belton Lake over-flowed into the
area now called Miller Springs. The third good side was that it was an easy
grade to get when we did the assignments on the fieldtrip. The fourth good
side of the trip was that we got to eat lunch outside.
I thought the fieldtrip was overall a good time. It had its
disadvantages though. I will start to gave you the bad sides of the
fieldtrip below.
The first bad side about the trip was that we had to walk
everywhere. My feet were sore after that fieldtrip. The second bad side was
that it was about 89 degrees F. The third bad side was that me and
everybody else ran out o ...

My Summer As A Counselor In Traing At Camp Morasha
... besides sleeping.
Although I usually enjoy working with young children, this was not my
idea of how to enjoy a summer vacation. But I decided to perservere, hoping to
be switched to another bunk. Alas, no such switch came, and I was driven to the
brink of insanity by these innocent looking young devils. These kids saw
nothing wrong with playing sports inside the bunk (and breaking three windows
while doing so), going weeks without showering, or with not going to sleep.
I soon realized that however insane these kids seemed to be, they were
not as unreasonable as I had originally thought. They just had to be given
suitable reasons or alternatives. And it w ...

Personal Writing: Christmas Memories
... Christmas odur engulfs me, and makes my mouth water. As
I yell "HELLO" I hear voices laughing, talking, and asking who's at the
door? In the next second "Millions" of relatives are giving me there
greetings and gladly inviting us into the house. As my family and I are
quickly made comfortable, I look around.....
Plates full of Christmas pastries, Christmas decorations, and
Christmas music lightly penetrates the air as the family socializes with
each other. The constant murmer of the voices, serves as a background for
the music. My cousins are running making their laps around the living room
while playing tag and laughing to their hearts content.
I hear a voice ...
